Several locations all over Shelby County will be open for residents to discard unused and expired prescription drugs.
It is that time of year again – spring cleaning, of course – and that means not only purging your garage of clutter and old items, but also your medicine cabinet. This Saturday, April 27, several locations will be open to accept old, unused or expired prescriptions that might be in Shelby County residents’ homes.
Shelby County residents may drop off prescription and over-the-counter pills (no liquids or needles) at the following locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday:
The last Take-Back Day brought in more than 900,000 pounds of unused or expired prescription medication nationally. This brings the total amount of prescription drugs collected by DEA since the fall of 2010 to 10,878,950 pounds.
